The 39th annual Green Scene Plant and Garden Show returns to the Fullerton Arboretum again in 2009 on April 18 & 19, 2009. Each spring, thousands of garden enthusiasts and horticultural experts grab their wagons and attend this annual event to shop for the perfect plant and/or garden accessories, interspersed throughout the Fullerton Arboretum’s 26 acres of garden trails.

Nearly 100 exhibitors are usually on-hand and offer a broad variety of beautiful and unique plants, garden art and accessories for sale. This is the only major annual outdoor sales event in Orange County focused exclusively on plants, garden accessories, and environmental products, plus it is usually the first major event of its kind during the busy spring season in 2009 for eager shoppers.

In the past, Green Scene was sponsored in part by Mr. Fertilizer and Knowlwood Restaurants, among others. Green Scene is the perfect place for any gardener looking for new ideas to improve their gardens or outdoor habitats. Specialty nurseries offer countless varieties of native Australian plants, South African and plants from other Mediterranean regions, tropical’s , perennials, carnivorous, geraniums, epiphyllums, cactus and succulents, container displays and much more. Visitors wishing to relax and enjoy the serene garden atmosphere can visit the Knowlwood Café and food court for delicious food and refreshing beverages.

In 2009 will be several varieties of specialty plants available in The Potting Shed for “Butterflies and Hummingbirds”. Free seed planting kits and Bug Safari tours for children will be available in the Children’s Garden—plus other surprise activities.. Some aspects of Green Scene in 2009 will be focused on events and activities related to Earth Day.. With added emphasis on “family friendly events”, visitors can expect to discover many interesting exhibits and activities for children and families all related to Earth Day, recycling, environmental protection and renewal resources.

Look for interesting animal and insect exhibits all kids will enjoy—there are many surprises planned. This is the “Must See” event of the year for families and children—supported by many different educational activities, in addition to the numerous plants and garden accessories on sale. Also planned are several featured presentations covering various related subjects by expert speakers from all fields.
