The Friends of the Fullerton Arboretum offers two scholarships on an annual basis:

Jorice Maag Local History Scholarship in the amount of $800 is open to full-time continuing upper division or graduate students at CSUF pursuing study in topics related to California history.

Focus of study: The history of California with preference given to those interested in local history.


David L. Walkington Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $800 is open to full-time continuing upper division or graduate students at CSUF majoring in biological sciences or related fields which emphasize botany, such as ethnobotany, medicinal plant usage, ornamental horticulture, plant adaptation, the genetic engineering of plants, biogeography, and environmental studies.

Focus of study: The traditional properties of plants or the links between plants, human culture and the environment. Human uses of plants, modification of the plant environment, plant adaptation, and the genetic engineering of plants are within the scope of study.
