The Friends of the Fullerton Arboretum operates a commercial growing nursery on the grounds of the Arboretum. The focus of this nursery is to propagate plants of all types for sale in The Potting Shed or for planting on the grounds of the Arboretum. This nursery is home to the Potters, the Arboretum volunteer support group, dedicated to the propagation of nursery stock.

The nursery operation has several thousand plants at any given time, in various stages of development from cuttings, seeds and bulbs. The plants are offered to the public in The Potting Shed on weekends and at specialty plant sales.

Volunteers, with limited paid staff, provide the labor and care for the plants in the nursery. A state-of-the-art greenhouse provides protection and care for seedlings and young plants before they are moved outdoors.

There is a large shade area for plants coming out of the greenhouse and a very large lay down area for plants at different stages of development, with automatic irrigation. Mature plants from the nursery are moved weekly to The Potting Shed for retail sales.
